The Role of a Broker/Facilitator:

NASA created the Space Science Education and Public Outreach (E/PO) Support Network as a part of its education initiative. The Support Network consists of Education Forums and Broker/Facilitators. The tables below provide a brief description of each.

Broker/Facilitators Defined+ show me the Broker/Facilitators

  Brokers focus on a specific geographical region. SERCH is responsible for carrying out duties in the Southeast region of the United States.

  Brokers create and nurture partnerships between space scientists and educators to carry out high-leverage E/PO activities.

  Brokers facilitate the development and dissemination of space science E/PO products and materials.

Education Forums Defined+ show me the Education Forums

  Forums focus on a specific NASA Science Mission Directorate (SMD) science theme.
2
 
  Forums coordinate the E/PO efforts of individual SMD space science missions within their theme area.
3
 
  Forums help make mission discoveries, results, and associated E/PO efforts accessible and readily available to the education community.
